Examinations Invigilator

Job Introduction

Are you reliable, professional, and looking for a flexible role? East Durham College is seeking Examinations Invigilators to help ensure the smooth running of our exams in line with JCQ and awarding body regulations.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and supervise exam rooms
• Support candidates during exams and maintain exam integrity
• Handle queries and manage situations calmly
• Collect and secure exam papers after sessions

What we’re looking for:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic IT skills (email, messaging)
• A reassuring presence and attention to detail
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare

No previous experience? No problem! Full training will be provided.

Essential: GCSE-level education (Maths & English), professionalism, and flexibility during exam periods.
Desirable: Experience working with young people and knowledge of safeguarding guidelines.
