Lead Practitioner - Teaching, Learning & Assessment (2025/AG063)
Job Introduction
Main Duties of the Role:
Your role will be to work as part of the quality team to effectively support new and existing teaching staff and enhance teaching learning and assessment (TLA) through the design and implementation of the Professional Development Framework. You will play a pivotal role in developing Teachers as professionals through high quality delivery and interactions which demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement and have the professional standards in focus to elevate and maintain high expectations across the College.
Main duties of the role will include but are not limited to:
- Contributing to the development and implementation of a current and evidence informed Professional Development Framework.
- Taking a leading role on the induction for teachers and other student facing staff, including new teaching staff.
- To plan, deliver and promote high quality professional development programmes, and be a leader driving the College’s culture of continuous improvement for TLA.
- Support teachers to develop and enhance their practice and student interactions through individual or group coaching and mentoring.
- To lead and contribute to the development and maintenance of mechanisms to share best practice in TLA, including Communities of practice, Action Learning Sets, and purposeful peer observations .
Essential Requirement:
Essential requirements for the role include but are not limited to:
- A recognised teaching qualification at level 5 or above
- Assessor and/or Verifier qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience of Teaching across a range of levels and ages
- Experience delivering Professional Development to teaching staff
- Experience of coaching and mentoring to support individuals and/or groups
